Who Can use a Pressure Relief bed fleece?

The Pressure Relief Bed Fleece is suitable to provide symptom relief for various ailments, including:

  • Raynaud's disease
  • Coldness/overheating in bed
  • Backache
  • Rheumatism
  • Arthritis
  • Poor circulation
  • Cramp
  • Numbness
  • Pins and needles
  • Relieving pressure points
  • Discomfort in bed

How Does a Wool Pile Bed Fleece Relieve Pressure?

Manufactured from deep wool pile and woven polyester backing, this layer helps to redistribute pressure and alleviate force on your joints and bones when laying in bed or seated. For especially frail individuals or the elderly, pressure sores and ulcers can be a common problem, as well as general aches and discomfort from excessive downward force. Using a wool bed fleece works to reduce impact on peak pressure points and provide additional comfort.

How Can the Bed Fleece Help With Raynaud's Disease?

The Shearex Bed Fleece encourages blood circulation and reduces the likeliness of waking in the night from discomfort, pins and needles or numbness. Additionally, it has excellent heat retention and temperature regulating properties to keep you comfortable and to allow for a full night of deep, restful sleep.

How Can the Bed Fleece Help With Rheumatism and Arthritis?

The Bed Fleece is designed to support the body's joints and permit an ache-free night's sleep. By alleviating the need to toss and turn to get comfortable in bed, pressure is distributed away from sore joints and provides a supple and pressure absorbing surface to sleep on.

Do I Use the Bed Fleece Under or Over the Bed Sheet?

For the best results when using the Pressure Relief Fleece, we recommend using the fleece below your normal bed sheets. This reduces the frequency of washing necessary and can also improve the user comfort, without impinging on the pressure relief provided.

Deep Pile for Exemplary Cushioning

The Shearex Bed Fleece has a thickness of approximately 3cm (1"), providing deep cushioning of crimped fibres to absorb and alleviate downward pressure. This allows for a plush and soft base to sleep on with high-performing pressure relieving properties.

Heat Regulation for A Restful Night's Sleep

Wool, unlike polyester, is a natural textile which makes it unmatched in its insulating properties. Because wool is able to absorb perspiration into its fibres, it keeps a layer of dry air next to the skin, keeping you warm and dry throughout the night. Without the disturbance of feeling cold in the night, you can enjoy a full and restful night's sleep.

Will the Pressure Relief Fleece Keep Me Cool?

The Shearex Wool Fleece works to keep you cool, preventing overheating thanks to its breathability and moisture-wicking properties, as well as the unique ability to dissipate excess heat. However, if you need a topper specifically targeted towards symptoms of menopause, try the Layer of Air Cooling Mattress Topper. By creating a cooling layer between you and your mattress, the Topper specifically targets:

  • Aggressive hot flushes
  • Night sweats
  • Hyperthyroidism

How Do I Wash My Shearex Bed Fleece?

We recommend washing your Pressure Relief Bed Fleece on a "wool cycle" or a 40°C wash with wool-friendly detergent. Line dry or tumble dry on a low setting, and refrain from bleaching in any circumstance to get the most from your product and prevent damage.
