The Alova Foam Pressure Relief mattress is designed for use in care homes, nursing and residential homes, and hospitals. As pressure relief treatment often takes place in medical facilities, this mattress is appropriately adapted for environments where patients may spend long amounts of time in bed.
Integrated Heel Relief Promotes Blood Circulation
As one of the boniest parts of the body, the heels are particularly vulnerable to developing pressure sores, bearing a considerable amount of downwards force on to mattress contact. The Alova mattress features an integrated heel contour to reduce pressure on the heels, having the added benefit of improving blood circulation around the whole body.
Three Different Hardness Levels to Treat Vulnerable Areas
The image below shows how the Alova mattress is adapted into 3 different sections. The softest section is at the feet and lower legs to protect some of the boniest parts of the body and prevent rubbing, while it is firmest at the torso area and has a medium hardness level at the head and shoulders, providing appropriate pressure to different parts of the body.

Ideal for Stage 1 and 2 Pressure Sores
This is a medium-high risk pressure mattress, suitable for stage 1 and 2 pressure ulcers:
- Stage 1 pressure injuries are not open wounds, though they may be painful and the colour may look different to the surrounding skin
- Stage 2 ulcers are painful open wounds, often looking like scrapes, blisters and ulcers, that expand into deeper layers of the skin, though they do not yet extend through the skin into tissue, muscle or bone
The Alova Pressure Relief mattress is a static mattress, suited to preventing and treating stage 1 & 2 pressure ulcers through the material used, as well as the three-sectioned design, improving blood circulation and minimising pressure on vulnerable areas.
Two Layers of Foam for Comfort and Safety
Patients who are confined to their bed for long periods of time have particular needs that must be addressed. The Alova Pressure Relief mattress is composed of a double layer; an upper visco elastic foam layer that is soft and comfortable for skin contact, and a denser polyether foam bottom layer for stability, and to prevent "bottoming out", maintaining the pressure relieving qualities of the mattress.
Tested for Fire Safety
The Alova Pressure Relief Mattress complies with fire safety regulations EN 597-1 and 2 GPEM D1 90 Class D. This means that the product is safe for commercial and professional use.
