Softform Odstock Pressure Relief Wedge

For patients who spend long stretches of time lying down in bed, the sacrum and heels are at particularly high risk of pressure sore development unless properly protected. The Softform Odstock Pressure Relief Wedge has been developed in partnership with clinicians to assist in the reduction of interface pressures on the sacrum and heels without significantly increasing pressure on the thighs of calves. It will maintain correct patient posture in the recumbent position, while reducing the tendency for the client to slip down the bed, resulting in reduced shearing forces on the sacrum.

Reduces Pressure on the Heels

There has been clinical research that has proven that the degree of knee flexion necessary to achieve substantial levels of pressure relief is relatively small. The Softform Odstock Pressure Reduction Wedge was specially designed by clinicians with this knowledge in mind, and aims to lower the amount of pressure on the heels through repositioning the hip and elevating the knee.

Reduces Lumbar Lordosis

This positioning wedge reduces lumbar lordosis by tilting the pelvis. This is particularly desirable following back surgery and is also great for improving the sleeping posture of patients with back issues. 

High Quality Construction

This wedge has been made to last, with high frequency welded seams that ensure the core is protected from fluid ingress, thereby increasing product integrity. It is also supplied with a multi-stretch cover that is is waterproof and vapour permeable. As another measure to ensure durability, the foam core is constructed from high density foam.

Designed For Use with the Softform Pressure Reducing Heelpad

This product is most effective when used in conjunction with Softform Pressure Reducing Heelpads, available in single or double versions. Used in conjunction, these two products combine to significantly reduce pressure on the vulnerable heel area.
